Day 2: Marawila
Arrive and transfer to Horathapola Estate (Family Lodge) for 1 night in this planter’s bungalow with garden and outdoor pool. Afternoon at leisure. (D)
Days 3: Wilpattu National Park
Drive to Wilpattu National Park for 2 nights at Noel Rodrigo’s Leopard Safaris. Afternoon wildlife drive. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Wilpattu National Park
Morning wildlife drive. Optional afternoon activities such as birdwatching, cooking classes and amateur photography walks. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Anuradhapura
Drive to the Cultural Triangle for 4 nights at Ulagalla (Deluxe room with attic). (B)
Day 6: Sigiriya
Morning climb of Sigiriya rock fortress. Afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 7: Polonnaruwa • Minneriya Tank
Cycling at Polonnaruwa. Lunch at Priyamali Gedara. Optional afternoon at Minneriya Tank. (B)
Day 8: Habarana • Hiriwadunna
Morning elephant experience at Habarana. Hiriwadunna village trek. Optional afternoon cookery lesson or cycle ride at Pelwehera. (B)
Day 9: Trincomalee
Drive to Trincomalee on the east coast for 4 nights at Uga Jungle Beach (Beach Villa). Range of water sports on offer including snorkelling on coral reefs at Pigeon Island. (B)
Days 10-12: Trincomalee
At leisure. Optional whale-watching trip. (B)
Day 13: Fly to Colombo
Domestic flight to Colombo for an overnight stay at The Wallawwa (Family suite). (B)
Day 14: Fly home (B)
